Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West at the upper chamber has reacted to a viral picture of a little boy with horrific tribal marks.
The senator, on his social media handle on Monday, said that he is ready to fight against the barbaric act.
He, however, called on Nigerians to support the fight against which will prevent babies and adults from going through the facial mutilation and the severe pains accompanied by the cuts from the razor blade in the process of giving the marks.
Years back, the permanent marks on the face or body were signs of uniqueness, royalty, simple means of knowing where a person is from, identification, beautification or healing from a particular sickness.
But now, some of the young people who have it feel resentment towards their parents for giving them such scars.
